Did you know that Georgia Law (Rabies Control Law-O.C.G.A-31-19) requires every owned dog and cat to be vaccinated against rabies? It's true, and only a licensed veterinarian is qualified to give and track the approved vaccine in accordance with the National Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control.
A veterinarian will do an exam on your dog or cat along with the rabies shot. The rabies vaccination comes with an actual metal tag and proof of vaccination certificate.
Why vaccinate against rabies?
Rabies is a viral infection causing acute acute encephalitis in warm-blooded animals that can be passed between animals and to humans. Animal control and implemented vaccination programs have been highly effective in domestic dogs and cats.
If you have not vaccinated your pet against rabies, contact a veterinarian and do so immediately. He will discuss other vaccinations necessary for a healthy pet.
At Marietta Vet Clinic, it is our pleasure to offer affordable pet vaccines, including an affordable rabies vaccine. Please call and schedule an appointment today.
